Collection: Cold Pressed Dog Food

Cold pressed dog food, stocked and explained in Bamber Bridge. If someone has told you cold pressed is gentler than kibble but not really explained why, here is the short version. We are always happy to give you the long one in the shop.

What cold pressed actually means

Ordinary kibble is cooked at high heat and forced through a die, which puffs it up. Cold pressed food is pressed together at a low temperature instead. Two things follow from that: more of the goodness in the ingredients survives the process, and the finished food breaks down in the stomach rather than swelling. That is why it so often suits the dog who has never quite got on with dry food.

A sensible halfway house for raw feeders

We are a raw shop first, but raw does not fit every household, every budget or every week of the year. Because cold pressed breaks down at a similar rate to raw, it can go in the same bowl or on alternate meals without the usual worries about mixing. Plenty of our customers feed raw at home and keep a bag of cold pressed in for travelling. That is not a compromise, it is just practical.

Switching over

Move across gradually, over a week or so, and weigh the first few meals rather than going by eye. Cold pressed goes further than kibble and it is easy to overfeed at first. Tell us your dog's weight, age and how much work they do and we will work the portions out with you. That takes as long as it takes, it costs nothing, and there is no judgement if you decide it is not for you.
